Inclement Weather Closing Policies

Winter means the chance of unsafe weather and road conditions. Library staff value the safety of volunteers, staff and patrons, and sometimes will need to close during what would be normal service hours.
Closing policies:
VGPL follows Santa Fe Public Schools closing announcements. Closed schools mean we are closed.
Early closures of SFPS will also mean early closure of VGPL.
On Saturdays and other school days, staff will evaluate conditions and make decisions that balance providing service with safety. Keep in mind that on weekends and holidays, Santa Fe County will not be out to do snow and ice removal on sidewalks, so it will fall to library staff.
In cases of a storm coming in during late afternoon or evening, VGPL may choose to close early to allow staff and volunteers to get home safely.
