Wags and Words - Read to a Dog
Roxie the Reading Dog would love more kids to read to her after school on Tuesdays. Contact Tracey at libasst@vglibrary.org or call for more information. This is a great program where your reluctant or struggling reader can come into the library and read aloud to a certified therapy dog. Participants become much more comfortable reading aloud with the support of a warm, fuzzy, non-judgmental listener.

Inclement Weather Closing Policies
Winter means the chance of unsafe weather and road conditions. Library staff value the safety of volunteers, staff and patrons, and sometimes will need to close during what would be normal service hours. Closing policies: VGPL follows Santa Fe Public Schools closing announcements. Closed schools mean we are closed. Early closures of SFPS will also mean early closure of VGPL. On Saturdays and other school days, staff will evaluate conditions and make decisions that balance pro

Tech Time: Electronic New Year's Resolutions
This year, resolve to complete two tech housekeeping resolutions. Both of which are perfect for the cooped-up winter months. Set up a Password Wallet - they are more secure, help you organize, and create encrypted passwords. This is not your browser keeping passwords for you, but a dedicated app. Such as mSecure, Apple Passwords, or Microsoft Password Manager. Aim for 5 entries a day - that’s 150 by the end of January! It’s clear that the people tracked time, creating calendars based on sunrise/moonrise movement of the sun and moon in relation to both natural and human-caused features on the landscape. This

EACA Makes Donation to VGPL

For longer than the 12 years I’ve been here, a portion of the sales from the Studio Tour has been donated by the wonderful and caring artists to help fund the library. Recently the organization's president Charles Boxhill and Vice President Julie Hill presented me with a check with this year's contribution. We are deeply grateful for this ongoing assistan

Fall Book Sale a Success!
Thank you to everyone who shopped our book sale, and all of you who donated the materials that made up our inventory. We made over $9000, which will go into the library's general fund. The sales are only made possible by the tireless work of our Board and many volunteers. The library is now taking donations of gently used books, DVDs and CDs for the next sale, which will be in May.
