Dear Friends,

Vista Grande Public Library (VGPL) is your community library. As an independent 501(c)3 non-profit, we are not fully funded as part of a city, county, or state system. With a dedicated staff of just 1.75 FTE employees and a group of over 100 volunteers, we serve southeastern Santa Fe County including the communities of Lamy, Galisteo, Pecos, Eldorado, Sunlit Hills, Rowe, La Paz, Madrid, Glorieta, and Cañoncito.

And serve we do! Last year, we had more than 29,000 patrons visit our library and check out books, CDs, DVDs, telescopes and more – for free. In addition:

• More than 2,300 patrons and guests attended free programs ranging from children’s story time to after school and summer reading, local author talks, artist receptions, family movie nights, Medicare and IT help, night sky viewing, fossils and geology talks.

• Over 500 supporters purchased an estimated 20,000 books at the semiannual used book sales in the Fall and Spring.

• More than 5,200 volunteer hours in a typical year help us maintain service in our community.
