January 2D Exhibit: Karen Mosbacher “Paint: Music”
VGPL will host Eldorado at Santa Fe artist Karen Mosbacher January 2-30 in the library gallery; she will host a reception on January 3 from 4-6 pm. “Paint: Music” features 5-6 contemporary acrylic and oil paintings.
International Award-Winning American artist Karen Mosbacher paints abstract expressions of music in this exhibition. Mosbacher’s passion for classical and jazz music as well as dance and visual art has been in her soul, eyes and ears since birth. She calls jazz "The Graffiti of Music." Mosbacher says "I have always seen color in sound. The challenge was to let others experience what I do. I began to paint what I see, and these works are the result." Ms. Mosbacher shows in many galleries around the country and is also a published author of two books and a well-known children’s book illustrator. Karen lives and works in Santa Fe with her partner and canine studio assistant, Amadeus Mozart Mosbacher.

January 3D Exhibit: Linda McPherson
VGPL will host Eldorado at Santa Fe fiber artist Linda McPherson January 2-30 in the lobby glass case an exhibit of “Handmade knitwear – wraps & ponchos.”
This exhibit features McPherson’s exquisite hand crafted ponchos and wraps – many are one of a kind wearable pieces. Ms. McPherson is a newer transplant to Eldorado, having moved from Santa Cruz, CA. She is active in the Eldorado Art Association and has her own company – Madame La Yarn – www.madamelayarn.com. Her works are knitted in beautifully textured designs, with the intention of creating a unique accessory that will enhance any outfit in your wardrobe. They are very affordable and easy for travel, as they do not wrinkle, and are light weight and cozy.

About Art at VGPL
The VGPL exhibition series is for the enjoyment of patrons when visiting the library located south of the El Dorado Community School, on 14 Avenida Torreon, Santa Fe, NM 87508. Library hours are 10-6 Tu - F and 10-4 on Sat. Exhibition art will be on sale during the month, and available to the purchaser after the close of the show. The library will receive a sales commission benefiting operations and library programming.
