Library Art Exhibition Space - September 2022

In September the Vista Grande Public Library (VGPL) will host two local artists who will exhibit both wall art and in the glass case:

Joan Biordi – “Rocks and Ruins”

The Vista Grande Public Library (“VGPL”) will host an exhibit Santa Fe photographer Joan Biordi, Rocks and Ruins, from September 1 through September 30, 2022.

Joan is a  fine art photographer and has exhibited in numerous group shows in New Mexico over the years, as well as in previous solo shows at the Vista Grande Public Library. She lives in Eldorado at Santa Fe, and is an active member of the Eldorado Arts and Crafts Association.  About her upcoming exhibit, she writes:

Rocks and ruins both contrast and complement each other. Rocks are solid, often immovable, randomly placed. They suggest permanence, stasis. Ruins are transitory, fragile looking, placed initially with purpose. Both have stories to tell: rocks of the earth’s history, ruins of human intentions. Both evoke questions: how were these solid things that look like peanut butter created? why were these ruins abandoned? The most ancient, enduring ruins were made of stone.

Exhibitions at the VGPL are for the enjoyment of patrons and guests, and are open for viewing by the public during regular library hours. Joan’s photographs will be on sale during the month, and available by contacting her directly at biordi@aol.com.
