Coming in April—to be rescheduled

3D Exhibit: Monika Heikkero – "Life Force"

VGPL will host an Eldorado at Santa Fe Ceramic Artist Monika Heikkero April 1-30 in the lobby glass case. "Life Force" is an exhibit of her whimsical pottery for everyday use and features 10-12 new ceramic pieces.

Heikkero is a Santa Fe based ceramicist who crafts decorative, functional and whimsical pottery. New Mexico has left a trace of its inspiring nature in her work.  Not only its colors, but also its creatures. Heikkero was a studio potter at the Arts and Crafts Academy in Plon, Germany. She has had exhibits in Helsinki, Finland and participated in group exhibitions at St. John’s College.

2D Exhibit: Gail MacQueston - "Low Riders"

VGPL will host Eldorado at Santa Fe Photographic artist Gail MacQueston April 1-30 in the library gallery and will host a reception on April 4 from 2-4 pm. The exhibit features 16 "Low Rider" Photographs.

The photos in her first exhibition were all taken at lowrider events in Santa Fe and Espanola. Gail’s goal is to show, not only the wonderful cars, trucks and bikes, but the culture that produces them and the people who are passionate about them.

Gail took up photography as a way to ease into retirement after a career as a lawyer. She has taken a number of photography courses, but the core of her education comes from participation in the Eldorado Camera Club. "The supportive members of the club have been a constant source of learning and inspiration." See more at gailmacquestonphotography.zenfolio.com.
