2D Exhibit: Roberto Veliz - “New Mexico & Island Landscapes”
VGPL will host Eldorado at Santa Fe artist Roberto Veliz December 2-30 in the library gallery. His show features 10 oil on canvas & Gouache on cold pressed board. Post-Impressionistic Art of vibrant colors.
Veliz has worked in graphics for the past 40 years manufacturing displays and signs. In the 1990s he owned and operated Signs of St. Thomas, a graphics and signs company in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Since 1997 Veliz has owned and operated the SIGNMAN, LLC, a similar type of business in Santa Fe. Mr. Veliz lives in Lamy, NM.
3D Exhibit: William Dunning - “Visits from St. Nicholas ... Through the Years”
VGPL will host an Eldorado at Santa Fe collector William Dunning December 2-30 in the lobby glass case.
This exhibit shares parodies and editions of the classic Visit from St. Nicholas by Clement Clarke Moore, published in 1823. The books and related material are from the collection of 20-year Eldorado resident Bill Dunning, who has channeled the jolly old elf for children of all ages for a quarter of a century and will be at the ECIA’s December 7 holiday party in the Community Center. His background in writing, journalism, teaching and broadcasting shines through low-powered ELDORADIO 1660 AM, which he calls “the only radio station in the world that cares first about Eldorado.” He is also active with the Santa Fe Model Railroad Club.
Art at VGPL
The VGPL exhibition series is for the enjoyment of patrons when visiting the library located south of the El Dorado Community School, on 14 Avenida Torreon, Santa Fe, NM 87508. Library hours are 10-6 Tu - F and 10-4 on Sat. Exhibition art will be on sale during the month, and available to the purchaser after the close of the show. The library will receive a sales commission benefiting operations and library programming.
