Artists participating in this exhibit are: Gerry Webber & Connie Heflin, watercolorists; Nancy Maner, Joy Anderson, Sandra Young, Gayle Ewing and Sue Lee Bechtold Pastel artists.
3D Exhibit: Sandra Young—"It All Started with a House"
VGPL will host an Eldorado at Santa Fe Miniature Artist Sandra Young February 1-28 in the lobby glass case with an exhibit of assorted dollhouse miniature vignettes and incorporating Valentine’s Day.
This exhibit features Young’s hand crafted or collected miniatures. It all started with a house over 25 years ago. Her mother gave her daughter, Heidi, a Victorian dollhouse kit for her 16th birthday. After her daughter moved out, Sandra inherited it and has continually expanded it over the years to include shops for each of the grandchildren plus many specialty room boxes. Ms. Young hand sculpts and clothes many of the dolls in the collection and decorates by the seasons. The miniatures come from all over the world, having collected from shows and shops during their travels. Small packages arrive often, much to her husband’s chagrin. One of her favorite quotes about her hobby is: "I can’t resist temptation unless I can't"—Mae West.
