VOLUNTEER

The Vista Grande Public Library depends on the community for its financial survival and the majority of its staffing needs. We are always looking to add to our family of dedicated and congenial volunteers and may have something to pique your interest.  

Volunteer opportunities currently include:
• Circulation – greeting patrons and processing check-ins and check-outs
• Cataloging – processing materials to add to the collection
• Children’s programs –after-school reading, story hour, and summer programs
• Special Events – help with fundraising to generate our operating dollars
• Administration –copying, envelope stuffing, and data entry that isn’t dull

Library volunteers meet bi-monthly on the second Tuesday of the month for training and orientation. The next meeting is September 11, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. where we will cover the basics of on-line searches, review program updates, and discuss the role volunteers can play in development for the library.
